Pavel Váně and his Music
The legendary Progress Organization, Synkopy, Collegium Musicum, Progres 2, Bronz, Bowle…These are just some of the bands which Pavel Váně has been in, or formed, over the years and which have established him as a major figure on the Czech music scene.
He was the driving force behind the first ever Czech rock opera „Dialog with the Universe“ and contributed, as a composer, to the first audio-visual concert performances in this country, as well as to large number of albums, singles and recordings for radio, film and theatre.
Among Pavel Váně´s extensive discography is the album „Progress Organization“ (hailed by the critics as Best Album of 1972) as well as the equally succesful albums „Maugli“, and „Dialogue With The Universe“ – recorded with the group Progres 2 – which was a bestseller on the Czech market.
Besides creating his own albums and singles, he has also worked on many other musical projects as a highly sought-after session musician and producer.
Recently, Pavel has moved away from doing large-scale productions and is going back to a simpler rock format. He often plays with the legendary group Progres either on large stages or in the more intimate surroundings of music clubs.
